Mother's Day

Everything Mom

How did you find the energy, Mom
To do all the things you did,
To be teacher, nurse and counselor
To me, when I was a kid.

How did you do it all, Mom,
Be a chauffeur, cook and friend,
Yet find time to be a playmate,
I just can’t comprehend.

I see now it was love, Mom
That made you come whenever I'd call,
Your inexhaustible love, Mom
And I thank you for it all.

I love that poem! I always think to myself, "How do mom's do it?" They go all day long and still have time to play and love. It's amazing! So, I am happy to celebrate the special day of Mother's Day. I think I love this day so much because I cannot wait until I am a mom. I can't wait to be a teacher, cook, and friend. It's something I have thought about and looked forward to my whole life. (I wish time would hurry up!) I am so grateful for all the amazing examples of mothers in my life. From my own mother to the mothers in my ward, I appreciate all they do.

I know Mother's Day has passed, but better late than never, right? Well, this past Mother's Day we happened to be driving home from california all day. Poor little mommy, didn't have a very special day. But, that doesn't mean she isn't special. For those of you who know my mom probably know how absoultey fantastic she is. This post doesn't need to be me bragging about my mother. I mostly just want to remind my self how lucky I am to have been raised by her. The first thing that comes to my mind when I think about my mom is the word selfless. I cannot think of anyone less selfish than my mother. She does absolutely everything for everyone. She always gives ten times more than she receives. Even though everyone knows we couldn't live without her, she gets teased a lot. (Those dang brothers of mine) But she takes it like a champ. She knows that her family, coworkers, and ward members love her more than anything and are so grateful for her. I don't know what or where I would be without that Jilly-bean. I love her and owe her the rest of my life to even start paying her back for what she has done for me. I hope to be like her when I'm a mom. Thanks mommy! :)

My sister-in-law Tregani posted on her blog about all the women in her life. So, not only her mother, but her friends and mother in law. I thought it was a cute idea so I am going to steal it... Thanks Treg:)

First, my mother-in-law Kim. What can I say about this lady? There are too many wondeful things I love about her. She, like my mom, is very selfless. She is an amazing example as a sister of the church. She is an amazing house-mother. Her house is always organized, clean, and homey. She is fun and happy. And she loves her children, (and their spouses) very much and always shows it. I am thankful I married into a family with such an amazing mother! Thanks for all you do, Kim:)

When I think about the women in my life, not only do my mothers come to mind, but I think about all my sisters. Karrissa, my only sister, is amazing. I love her more than I can express in words. She is a great example of a mother. I hope I can be like her in a few years. Then, I have six sisters-in-law... Tasha, Rachel, Tregani, Sarah, Hannah, and Eliza. These girls have become some of my best friends. They are all so caring and loving towards me. I don't think my sisters know how much they mean to me or how much they do for me without even knowing. Thank you all for being examples to me!

I am grateful for all the women in my life. I hope I can continue learning from them forever. Thank you and happy Mother's Day!:)

Great post about Mothers. You do have a GREAT mother and mother-in-law and if you learn from them you learn from the best. You have great sisters. I don't know about you Lanham sisters-in-law, but I am sure they are wonderful, too. You married into a great group of people.
