Half Marathon

A couple months ago I signed up for the Utah Valley Half Marathon. I figured out a training planning and was ready to stick to it! Then I got sick for a couple weeks and we seemed to be out of town far too often to actually be training for this race. I wanted to back out but decided I might as well just go for it. So, with only 7 miles under my training belt, this past Saturday I successfully finished my first half marathon! To my surprise, I actually enjoyed it! The first ten miles felt really good but the last three were a bit harder. I finished just under two hours. Mike, my brother-in-law, also ran the race. It was fun to run along side him for a while and meet our family at the finish line. I'm not trying to toot my own horn whatsoever; I am just proud of myself for actually finishing. I can't wait to do another one! :) Or, maybe even a full marathon. Although, I honestly don't know how anyone can run 26.2 miles... crazies.

Way to go! I actually trained really hard for my first half marathon and didn't do it in under 2 hours, so I find that amazing.

Way to go Alysha. I am amazed that you did it so well without much training. Keep it up. It is good for you.
