For Family Home Evening this week Chris, Kim, Eliza, Mark, and Jon came over to our house. They hadn't seen the apartment yet so Kim and I thought they could come over, have a little lesson, and eat ice cream. Jesse gave a spur-of-the-moment lesson and it turned out to be wonderful. First, he showed us this clip from the "Colbert Report". This guy kind of makes fun of whatever political issues are going on in the news. This week was about how Mit Romney is a Mormon. It really is pretty funny. He mostly makes fun of people for making fun of Mormon's. Anyway, here it is if you want to watch it! http://www.colbertnation.com/the-colbert-report-videos/394360/august-10-2011/yaweh-or-no-way----mormons---god-s-poll-numbers  Then, he read some scriptures from 1 Nephi about how there are only two churches; the church of the Lamb of God and the church of the devil. "And the angel spake unto me, saying: Behold the gold, and the silver, and the silks, and the scarlets, and the fine-wined linen, and the precious clothing, and the harlots, are the desires of this great and abominable church. And also for the praise of the world do they destroy the saints of God, and bring them down into captivity." Jesse related these two scriptures to the movie, and how the world views and mocks our religion.  The world looks for the praise of the world, when really we should be looking for the praise of the Lord. Jesse went on to say how we need to always be standing for what we believe in. When we don't stand up for something we know is wrong, we are "protecting wickedness". I love the way he said that. We are protecting wickedness when we don't stand up for what we know to be right. Anyway, now that you have had the whole lesson, I am done. Haha. I am just thankful to have an such a wonderful man in my home who can come up with lessons that bring the spirit in just minutes. And, for in-law's who always have something amazing and profound to add to any lesson. I loved having our family over to visit and laugh with. Mike, Rachel, and Curtis came to visit and see our place before this too, which was nice. I am lucky to be married into such a great family!

After the family left, Jesse and I watched a movie and then went to bed. Every time I go to turn out my lamp while in bed, Jesse reaches over and tickles me! He thinks it's pretty funny. But, this time, I reached over, he tickled me, and then I reacted so big that the lamp fell on the ground and blew the fuse out in our room! Haha! Now he knows never to do that again. Because he was the one who had to get up and fix it ;)

Overall.. it was a wonderful night spent with those I love.
