No Work Weekend
I finally had a weekend off from work and we sure spent it well! Our friends from West Valley came down. Sheriann and I made dinner (BBQ chicken calzones:)) while the boys went to the gym. Then we ate, talked with neighbors, and watched lots of episodes of the office. It was a relaxing night with our good friends!
Saturday afternoon, Jesse, my mom, Rory, and I hiked to the Y. It was Jesse's first time! Of course, I was breathing hard and sweating the whole time and I swear it was nothing for him. When we got to the top, I took a picture with my camera and as I was putting it back around my wrist it dropped out of my hands and went tumbling down the Y! My cute dog tried to go after it but gave up when she saw how far down it was. Haha. Bless my heart. I got it back and it works, but it is all scratched up! Without any more accidents, we headed back down. Then, Jesse went to the gym while me and my mom went to Target to pick out curtains and other house decor for our apartment. We have been there too many times in the last week, let me tell you! My good husband and brother helped me hang up the last few things on the walls before ending the night with Netflix. Lots and lots of Netflix. Hooray for fun and productive Saturdays!

Sunday wrapped up our no-work-weekend! We attending church at our new ward for the first time. This is the ward we will be in for almost the next three years, so we were happy to be greeted and welcomed by everyone. I think I will like this ward. I am hoping I can get to know a lot of the sisters really well and have a calling that will help me do that. Did I mention that our church starts at 2:30? Which means, Jesse and I might have slept in quite late. It was magnificent. Before church we woke up, made and ate breakfast, read our scriptures/ensign, wrote in our journals, etc. took and nap and got ready all before sacrament ever started! Starting at 2:30 means not getting out until 5:30, which is when our family dinners usually are. After church ended I checked my phone and had missed calls and texts from the family wondering where we were! My mother had forgotten that we told her not to start dinner until 6 because we were still in church. Luckily, my very hungry family waited for us to get there to start. We had salmon, bbq chicken, salad, and potatoes for dinner and it was delicious! It was a wonderful Sabbath day spent with both sides of the family.
