Thanksgiving Break
I am getting stressed thinking about all I have to blog about! I am sorry for the break between posts but it's been a very busy Thanksgiving break. Ready for a long post? Let's start from the beginning, shall we?
Tuesday after school started our five day break from school. Jesse and I celebrated by having dinner and going to the temple together. We were going to the temple in hopes of receiving an answer, so it was a very special visit. We went to the gym then tanning, which we haven't done with each other for ever! Once we got home we made some delicious popcorn and watched a few episodes of The Office. It was the perfect way to kick off the break... with each other :)
Wednesday morning we went to the library for a few hours and finished up some homework before I headed to work for the night. We decided to sleep at my parents that night because Chris, Treg, Brady, and Eliza and us wanted to hot tub and watch The Office together, and that's exactly what we did.
Thurdsay, Thanksgiving Day, was wonderful. I thought about all the things I am thankful for all day long. We woke up early to do a Turkey Day Run, which Jesse has apparently made a tradition of. Jesse, Chris and Braden did 12 miles from the mouth of the Canyon to Vivian Park and back. Me, Treg, Michael, Rachel, Mike, Jon, and Pa met them at Vivian Park for a 6 mile run back. It felt glorious! It was such a beautiful day and I was full of gratitude for the amazing nature that surrounded me and for my body that can move and run like that. Mama Kim had cinnamon toast and fruit ready for us when we returned home. After getting ready, we were about to sit down to eat when I got a call from my boss. Guess who got called into work? I did. I was supposed to work but then they put me on call, and sadly, got called in. I was a little upset, but luckily got to quickly enjoy a delicious meal with the family before leaving. I regret being so angry when I showed up to work because I should have been happy to spend the holiday with my sweet patients who would rather be with their family too. After realizing how lucky I was to have a job that I love and patients that always show gratitude towards me, I decided to be happy and make my patients Thanksgiving as good as it could be. After work, the family decided to hot tub again before kicking off the Christmas season by watching Elf, even though we all fell asleep within the first twenty minutes. The most important part of this day was realizing how many things I have to be grateful for: my sweet husband, two amazing families, school, my job, our friends, temples, and especially the gospel.
Friday morning me, Jesse, Pa, Brady, and Eliza took a yoga class from Kim. She is recently a certified instructor and wanted to show us what she learned. Let's just say that she is amazing! We were all having a hard time keeping up with her, but it felt good to stretch after that long run! I headed to work for the day after that.
Saturday morning, (meaning 10:30 when Jesse and I finally got out of bed) we did homework and cleaned before heading up to Cade's house in West Valley with Eliza and Micah for date night. We got to meed Bridgette, Cade's new girlfriend, as well. After eating scones we went to this museum in Salt Lake called The Leonardo. Although I am no museum-goer, it was fun to be with our friends and laugh at all the things we didn't understand at the museum. We went to Costa Vida, played catch phrase, listened to the boys play guitar, then drove home. This was no ordinary drive home... we listened to so much music and Jesse and I showed off our cool moves and AMAZING voices. Haha. Poor Micah having to get to know me. We then watched a few episodes of Modern Family, which is my new favorite show by the way, before going to bed.
Sunday we didn't wake up for church... 8:30 for a married ward, really? So I took the sacrament at work while I was there the whole day. The end.
I am happy I got to spend every day during the break with Jesse and our family and friends! I am so very blessed! :)
