I Love My Rifle, Sir!

Jesse has been working super hard during drill practice to catch up to all the guys who have been in it longer than him. Two Saturdays ago they had a performance for a cub scout get together. One of the cadets on the 12-man team, the team that performs, hurt his finger and needed a replacement. Guess who they chose? My dear husband. He was told he needed to learn the routine only a few days before the performance. And Jesse, being the hard working perfectionist that he is, learned that routine down pat. On Friday he spent over 9 hours out in the courtyard of our apartment practicing the routine. Luckily, multiple cadets helped him out a ton! I came home from school on Friday to five guys in uniforms spinning guns on this random grass patch.... it was a hoot, I tell you. Anyway, Jess was extremely nervous and really worried he would mess up... but guess what? He did awesome! Especially for it being his first performance and having learned the routine only days before. It was fun to watch him perform!  I love being his wife! After the performance a couple of the cadets told me how awesome Jesse is and how they would never have been able to learn the routine that quick! "He is such a stud" is what they always say to me. Haha... I'm proud of that boy:)

This would be one of the fifty videos I took so Jesse could watch himself to see what he needed to fix...

Good work, Cadet Lanham!

P.S. I titlted this "I love my rifle, sir!" Because when the cadets have inspection, where the people above them yell at them and ask them weird questions, sometimes they ask the boys if they love their rifles and that is the response they give them... cute.
