One Year Annivesary

March 19th, 2012 was our one year anniversary! Unfortunately it was a Monday… specifically the Monday after Spring Break which means the day was unplanned and full of school and studying. In hopes of making it a special day, I wanted to make a delicious dinner, drink sparkling cider in cute glasses, and just spend the night together.

I decided to make parmesan chicken and pasta but it turns out that sometimes the breading falls off the chicken when you cook it… and sticks to the bottom of the pan and burns. I called my sister for comfort and cooking tips. After realizing I couldn't save the chicken, I broke down in tears. Sobbing, really. The spaghetti and vegetables were ready, but the chicken was a no go. Jesse walked in during my tantrum (I may have thrown my phone on the floor) and after a little giggle, comforted me. I was seriously so sad! I just wanted the table set and a nice dinner ready for him when he got home from school but instead, the kitchen was a disaster and I was crying. We sat on the kitchen floor while Jesse held me and let me be sad. He thought it was the cutest and seeing how much I cared was better than any dinner I could have made (what a good husband!:)).

Instead of just eating the food already made, I stubbornly asked him to pick up Costa Vida for us. Romantic, eh?

After seeing some friends do this, I wanted to sleep in the living room on our mattress, even though Jesse thought it was silly. So we did. And it was fabulous. We watched a bazillion episodes of The Office, reminisced about the past year, and ate treats.

So, I guess our anniversary day wasn't the worst after all. All that really matters is that we spent it together.

And I'm happy to say that we are still madly in love even after a whole year! ;)

Happy one year, babe! I love you!

I felt sorry for you when I read this post, but Jesse handled it well! (your the manJesse!) Just as a side note Lysh. When you burn something in your pans, put it on th stove with water and baking soda and let it boil for awhile. That will loosen the burned part and then if it doesn't come completely clean use an SOS or Brillo pad to shine it up.
