Mother's Day

Mother's Day is quite special to me.
1. I love my mom
2. I want to be a mom.

This mother's day Jesse and I went to church at our home ward so we could be with both our moms and Eliza was speaking. The primary sang to all the mom's and then a man in the ward played "Love at Home" on the piano. The spirit was so strong and I loved the peace that filled my soul as I listened to those sweet kid's voices sing.

Being a mother is honestly the greatest blessing. Well, that's what I hear anyway :). God puts the lives of his children into the hands of women. What an amazing duty it is to raise children of God. Obviously I was thinking about being a mother and how excited I am to love and teach my little ones one day.

My wonderful mom, cute Jillbo Baggins, is the greatest.
I am so thankful for her selflessness and willingness to serve not only her children, but others as well.
I learn from her example every day.
I hope I can be a mom like her.
We had a delicious dinner and reminisced about old memories to celebrate.
Kim has been such a blessing in my life.
I am lucky to be apart of her family.
I am grateful she raised such an amazing man for me to marry.
She shows her love for her children through her actions.

While I was at church with my family, I wasn't only thinking about my mother, but about all the women in that ward who have helped me grow.
There are many young women leaders and relief society sisters who have greatly impacted my life.
I look up to so many of the women who took care of me during high school and strengthened my testimony immensely.
Sister Richards, who passed away a few months ago, was especially on my mind.
From the moment I met her, I knew she was incredible. I knew she was an angel.
I still remember every lesson she taught and what I learned from it.
I'm grateful the Lord puts all types of examples in our life to look after.

Those examples include my sisters, aunts, and cousins, and grandmas as well.
Karrissa is in outstanding, creative, loving mother whom I literally want to be like everyday.
Rachel is also a happy, dedicated, hard working mother whom I look up to.
Laura and Mary probably don't know it, but they are huge examples to me because of how greatly they raise their kids.
My aunt Janet is definitely a women I look to when thinking about raising a family. She is selfless in every way and loves the gospel.
My two grandma's are of course incredible examples of mothering; not just to their children but to their grandchildren. How lucky am I!

All of the amazing women in my life serve the Lord and that's what makes them so great.
I cannot wait until it is time for me to be a mother.

That was a great post Alysha. You paid tribute to all those who have helped you in your life. You do have a great mother and sister to follow one day. You will always remember Aunt Janet and the fun times had at her home. I love that you are so grounded in the gospel and I know you will be a great mom also.
