Utah Valley Half Marathon
After much convincing from family members, I decided to run the Utah Vally Half Marathon, despite the pain in my knees. I hadn't run in over a month but I wanted to just go for it. I prayed for strength and a pain free run!
My knees started hurting within the first mile and I was so nervous for what was to come! Luckily, the pain that continued was nothing I couldn't deal with. I was seriously saying "thank you" prayers while I was running because my heart and lungs were totally fine, which is unusual for me. Until the last, and hardest, three miles, I felt pretty good. I ran with Sarah for most of the time, which was nice having a buddy.
Anywho! I was proud of myself for finishing and making it through the pain. My poor knees for the next few days were hurting though… but it was worth it! I did this race last year and was reminded this year of how awesome it is to run down the canyon. It is so beautiful!
Hello 4:30 a.m.!
Cute mommy came to support!
The after math...
I'm so grateful for a body that can run and do the things I want it to.
