North Carolina: Getting there and day 1
This was an incredible family vacation! We had such a fun time and and lots of memories were made. Let's go through the week a few days at a time… with one thousand pictures. Hooray! :)
Bright and early the morning of the 4th, the 17 of us made our way to the airport, a bit excited about getting to Atlantic Beach. Too bad both of our flights were delayed… it was a very long day. We sat on one of the planes for over an hour before finding out it had maintenance problems and we had to get off and wait for another one. Blah. Needless to say, we were very excited when we arrived in Raleigh.
Treg's face explains everything perfectly.
Liza and I were spooning in the airport… we were tired.
Good thing we had this little one to entertain us!
Happy to have made it to the beautiful, but humid, state!
Picked up our 15-passenger van and we were off!
We drove to Grandaddy and GranBonnie's house, had a delicious dinner, and went to bed!
Ready for our 2.5 hour drive to the beach!
Wendy's stop. Nom noms.
We made it! Our two beautiful houses!
First beach day :)
Me… wishing I was as cool as Eliza.
Sick, bra!
I started reading The Last Song as soon as we got there! I loved sitting on the porch, reading, listening to my sweet husband play his guitar, while feeling the ocean breeze! It was a simple, beautiful moment. It's moments like this that remind me how blessed we are to have a world as beautiful as we do and wonderful people to enjoy it with.
Roger made us a delicious dinner! I love dinner time with this huge family of ours… it's always entertaining.
Then Kim, Pa, Jesse and I went grocery shopping! Getting food for 23 people for a week sure adds up...
