NIDM

I was lucky enough to go with the BYU ROTC drill team to Colorado for the National Invitational Drill Meet (NIDM). About 40 of us drove on a bus for eight hours before getting to our hotel. While the boys got ready for the competition the next day, I hung out with a couple of the other wives, eating lunch and watching the boys practice. That night we all ate pizza, hung out getting the boys ready for the competition, getting treats, watching tv, etc. It was fun to be with all of Jesse's friends.

Friendly arm wrestling waiting for our dinner
Sometimes they have to wear matching clothes and it's cute...
NIDM started real early and lasted FOR-EV-ER. And it wasn't exactly as competitive as we were hoping for… but it was still good. The boys did awesome!
The 4-man team Jess is on took 1st place! It was the best performance I have ever seen them do. It was truly incredible! Such a proud little wifey.
They got lots of love after rockin' their performance
While waiting for awards, we took a tour around the Air Force Academy which was neat
Everyone lined up for awards
 1st! Woohoo!

 Missing Austin's girlfriend Olivia :(
Austin and Jesse holding hands? Yes. They are secret lovers. I'm fine with it.
I loved being with him all weekend!
That night one of the cadet's parents fed us all! It was a giant wonderful feast… that is until my stomach decided to do that thing where it hates me and makes me sick. No fun.
We just hung out in our rooms for a bit that night with J's friends
The drive home was almost the worst thing ever. I was still feeling extremely sick… and a bus ride with tons of people didn't make it any better. We stopped at another kids house for brunch and I ended up getting a blessing by Jesse, Austin and Bryan because I was not looking forward to the next 7 hours throwing up on a bus. So, that was sweet of them. I decided that I just wouldn't eat the entire day because if I did, I would get more sick, and have to do some embarrassing things on the baby bus bathroom. So.. I was STARVING the entire day. Along the way, the freeway was closed to busses and trucks because of wind. So we took a weird route and stopped somewhere in Wyoming to wait for the weather to clear up. I thought I would be fine getting a salad but nope.. two bites in I got sick again. Blah!! Worst ever. We ended up waiting in Wyoming a couple hours, waiting to see if we had to stay the night. I had class the next day and I didn't want to miss it! Long story short, we went the longest way home possible and like 12 hours later.. made it home. All while feeling like dying. Ha… I most definitely enjoyed the first part of the trip better than the last :)
Wyoming stop. Literally everyone at the table was on their phone. We were a lively bunch! :)

Besides the getting sick part, I really had an awesome weekend with J and his friends. I love that he likes to include me in his ROTC stuff. I could have been at home at my bestie's bachelorette party (which I am so sad I missed!) but Jesse convinced me to come with him and I am glad he did. I love that cute boy :)
