North Carolina Beach Trip: Part 1
Alright, let's blog about this trip baby! North Carolina Yandow/Lanham beach trip 2014 = August 2nd-13th in Atlantic Beach! This trip was truly incredible and I am so lucky to be apart of such an amazing family. Okay, lets start from the beginning.
Day 1: Our flight left around 5 pm Saturday night and we got to Raleigh pretty late. It was direct flight which was awesome! Traveling through an airport with 16 people and like 30 bags sure is exciting! We were lucky and found out that with Jesse's military ID we could check our bags for free. So, my 48 lb bag made it :) Kim picked us up at the airport, sub sandwiches in hand, and we rented our cars and drove to the hotel. Some of us stayed at a hotel and some stayed at Bonnie's and Rogers. Jess and I shared a room with Michael and Erin.
Matchy matchy
Ready to party!
Day 2: We ate breakfast at the hotel on Sunday morning and then went to church at Kim's ward she grew up in. It was testimony meeting and my soul sure was touched by the spirit. It is so cool to me that anywhere you go the church is the same. I love that. After church we all piled in our cars and started the 3 hours drive to Atlantic Beach! We stopped at Wendy's along the way (honestly my favorite) and then we finally made it to our houses! After much debate of where we were going to sleep, we finally ended up with the little baby house in front of one of the houses. It was supposed to be for the Kitto family, but Rachel decided to have our two rooms in the other house instead. So, us lucky couple got to have our own little "house" for the week and it was so fun. We hurry and changed and made our way to the beach!
After swimming for a bit and unpacking, Jesse and I went on a walk along the beach just before dinner. I have to write this down because I want to remember the feeling I had forever. First off, Jesse and I were just totally in sync the whole day. I was feeling out of this world in love with him (not like I'm not always, but you just know those really good marriage days where you are both in a good mood and stuff?) and he was being so wonderful. We had been laughing all day together and this walk was just the icing on the cake. We walked hand in hand on this beautiful beach, feeling the wind blow, watching the sun set, laughing, talking about life. We stopped for a minute and just kissed. It was perfect. Made me feel all giddy inside, you know? In that moment, I felt like nothing else mattered except for me and my amazing husband. It was truly one of my favorite moments of the trip.
Anywho, now onto less cheesy things, we went out to dinner at this sea food restaurant on the pier. Good food and good company, I couldn't ask for anything more. We came back to the houses and celebrated Rachel's birthday with dessert. Then, when the boys went for a night swim, Hannah, Eliza, and I painted toenails and had a dance party. It was quite the wonderful day if you ask me. The beginning of an amazing trip!

But really? I love this handsome man.
Don't mind Jess's five hands…. I love this cute little baby house.
Beautiful double rainbow as we were walking into the restaurant
