Our First Week In Wichita
Our first week here was mostly spent running around the base and then hanging out on the floor of our empty house. Okay, and running errands with Elise, hanging out with friends, etc. Haha. Luckily it only took a few days (very long days, might I add) to get our internet set up so we could at least watch shows and stuff.
The day after we got here began our long scavenger hunt around the base trying to complete the in-processing check list. Things were just not organized and no one could clearly communicate exactly what we were supposed to do...everywhere we went, they would say "oh, sorry, I can't help you until you sign this paper or get this signature, etc" so we would have to drive from building to building solving this puzzle. Haha. It was meticulous and not the funnest thing in the world... but it all had to be done! We got Jesse's flight suits, jackets, suits, and bags, set up financial stuff so we can get paid, got signatures, and a whole bunch of other stuff.
We also were able to spend time with the Brackens, go on a little date, go to church and meet some new friends from the ward.
Baby girl sure is growing!
Borrowed our friends camping chairs...:) Classy dinner, right there!
Getting ready for my first doctor's appointment with the new OB! We really like him. He is super chill and nice. Everything seems to be looking good with me and baby! Minus some not so fun sciatica pain...
My life for a few days...
We decided to go on a little date (mostly because we didn't have much to cook at the house...) to Chipotle! This was my first time going! It was yummy, but definitely not as crazy good as everyone described it. Maybe it'll grow on me.... #chipotlesmylife
Then we went to the Brackens and had a fire with smores!
Little child playing games on the floor
We had a good day at church at our new ward! Everyone was super nice and welcoming, and we're hoping we will get to know everyone and enjoy our time there. After church, one of the families in the ward was having a gender revealing party that everyone was invited to! So we went over with the Brackens and met the gang! We admired the Harry Potter wands and chess board this guy MADE! It was insane. We talked to everyone, had homemade cafe rio lunch, then stuck around for the baby boy reveal! It was good for us to get out and get to know the ward and school members. That night was the blood moon eclipse thing... we went to Brackens and had dessert, watched The Office, and waited for the moon to slowly change. Sadly, we couldn't see it too well, but still cool to witness, I guess!
Frozen lasagna and Maze Runner :)
Week one complete!
