Christmas 2015
Christmas is by far my most favorite time of the year. My parents house always has such a special feeling, we get to spend time with family, and of course, we can focus on the birth of the Savior. I am grateful we got to be home in Utah with both our families this year! And although miss Lucy is still little, it was fun to include her in on all the traditions!
On Christmas Eve, Jesse watched Lucy so I could go to my most favorite Zumba class -- it never disappoints! I miss dancing so much and zumba helps fill that void a little bit. We got ready to go to Rich and Colleen's real quick to say hi, then to Jesse's house for the evening! We had dinner, played games, did a live nativity, and opened pajamas! Back at my house we watched opened pj's there and then watched a Christmas movie! That night a Christmas miracle occured... Lucy slept through the night!! Well, from like midnight-7am...the longest she has ever slept! It was the nicest gift she could ever give me at that time! ;) Opening presents and breakfast was wonderful as usual with my family! We always have had such fun Christmas mornings together. We quickly drove back to Jesse's to Skype with Mark! It was SOOO good to see him. He is doing such wonderful things on his mission and seems so happy. He got see Lucy for the first time, so that was special. We opened some great gifts with Jesse's family, including a trip to Atlantic Beach, NC again this summer! Woohoo! But sadly, Mr. Jess won't be able to join us :( Then, while everyone went to see Star Wars, I stayed home with Kim and Lucy and took a nap and watched HGTV :)
That night, as I was holding my sweet daughter, I had an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for her and our Savior. Mike, my brother in law, shared some thoughts a couple nights ago and reminded us that Christ, after creating the world and everything on it, humbly came to earth as an innocent child. Just like Lucy. What an amazing act of humility and selflessness! And because of Him, I can be with my two loves, my whole world, forever. I am so grateful for that knowledge. And to get to experience loving my family like Heavenly Father and Christ love each of us.
It was truly a merry Christmas! Already looking forward to next year ;)
