General Conference Week in Utah

After realizing that I had 8 days before my next shift at work and that Jesse was going out of town for four of those days and it was general conference weekend....my sweet parents helped me book a ticket home to Utah last minute! I was nervous to do this, just cause flying with Lucy is hard and it's hard to get her off her schedule, but I ended up being so happy I did! We had so much fun! I sure miss home...like, a lot. So I got my fill in to help me last til Christmas :) 

I prayed and prayed and prayed that the flights to Utah would go well. Last time it was not the greatest thing ever... so I was hoping this time around would be different. Well, turns out my prayers weren't quite answered this time around ;) We had quite a few mishaps...my dad mispelling my name on my ticket (which caused a few problems), me getting a pat down once again, Lucy pooping as soon as soon as getting through security, sitting in the plane for 45 minutes on the runway, and her only sleeping if attached to my boob the whole long flight over (making me sit in the most uncomfortable position and Lucy kicking the lady next to us). Haha! Whew! Once again, I told Jesse, "Sorry, looks like I'm stuck in Utah, cause I'm not doing that again!" Don't worry... we a better luck coming home :)

Anyway, we went straight to Ryan and Miranda's to hang out after the airport, followed by the usual Parsons dinner at Pizza Factory.

 Lucy instantly fell in love with Kylie! (but who doesn't?!) She kept laying her head on her shoulder and choosing her instead of me. It was quite adorable.

Home sweet home...HGTV, jammies, and my favorite little humans. I loved being able to watch shows and talk with my parents each night -- they're the best! :)

We had such a fun day eating Costa Vida and watching Grey's Anatomy, playing on the tramp, wanting to swim but it raining instead, and watching Grey at his soccer game! I love every minute of days like these. Lucy LOVED jumping on tramp and watching her cousins do anything and everything to make her laugh.

I was happy I was there to celebrate my grandma's birthday! She let me and noisy Lucy tag along with my mom and grandpa to lunch at the Sundance Grill and drive around the Alpine Loop. Turns out we probably ruined her special day by Lucy crying for a good 20 minutes before falling asleep in the car and me experiencing the worst car sickness ever....sorry, Gram! We love you, though! :) My grandparents are such incredible people. And they truly love their grandkids and great grandkids! I'm glad they got to see how much Lucy has grown!

We packed so much into every day! Today we took the kids to The Museum of Natural Curiosity -- I had never been but I knew Lucy was a the age now where she would have so much fun! And I was right! I seriously almost started crying watching her haha cause it was so cute to see her experience new things and play with the toys and other kids. She loved it! We checked one of my "to eat" places on the list by going to Cubby's...delicious as always. We stopped at the hospital on the way home visit Mike and Hill and meet baby Jude! I was beyond excited to hear Hillary was getting induced while I was there. So happy I could meet the tiny little boy :) I then headed to Kim and Pa's house to visit with them and Rachel. Lucy and Caroline had fun playing -- Lucy wouldn't stop hugging her and trying to pick her up! It was so funny! 

 Lucy loved playing at this water table! She ended up soaked, of course. But it was worth it cause she had so much fun!

I packed our last day in Utah full of fun stuff! We took all the kids to lunch at Slab Pizza then to the aquarium. Lucy was so cute walking around like a big kid and looking at all the fish. Next stop was stopping at the Lanham's so say hi/bye, then to Ry and Mir's house to play! Tasha, Cora, and Graham came home and we had a awesome evening together. The kids played, Ryan brought home Thai Drift and Swig drinks for everyone, and we watched shows! I wish so badly little Lucy girl wasn't tired so we didn't have to leave, but it sure was a good last night with them! :)

And just like that it was time to go back home! The trip back was much much better than the trip there...Lucy did such a good job. We got super lucky (or got an answer to a prayer:)) and had two seats to ourselves on the long flight. Lucy slept in my arms most of the time and then and room to play when she was awake! It was perfect. She was entertained during our layover by the stroller. 

I am so grateful I was able to go home to Utah for a quick visit! I miss my family all the time. But I sure was excited to be with Jesse again. :)
