Our First Family Camping Trip - Sedona, AZ

Ever since Jesse went to SERE/Survival training, he has been all into outdoor gear and stuff. Since we are in Arizona, a great place for camping, he decided to stock up on some gear for the family. Once we got it all, we had to put it to the test!

We drove a few hours to beautiful Sedona! We said a few prayers, hoping there would be a good spot for us at a couple of camp grounds we looked at, and there was! We found the perfect, "first-time camping, pull up and park, and pitch your tent" place. The kids and I wandered around while Jess got everything set up. He used some cool skills and ideas he learned at training.

We went on a walk around the campsite, down to the river, where Lucy loved throwing rocks in the river. We got back and cooked our dinner -- which we should have started much earlier, we learned, cause it got dark fast! After eating, Jesse and Lucy took a shower, then we all got pj's on and watched a movie on the ipad in the tent. Lucy did great in her sleeping bag, and since it was so cold, Charlie just slept right next to me on our air mattress. We got a nice and early, snuggled, then had breakfast. Took the campsite down then went on a walk before heading home.

It was a quick, easy, trip, but so so fun and good to spend time together. Yes, it was somewhat difficult with Charlie, and all, not exactly my cup of tea, but still enjoyable! :)

Sedona was absolutely beautiful and I loved spending time talking in the car with Jess. I love my family.

Lucy didn't want to stop exploring. I am sure she would walk around until her legs gave out.
She really was so happy. I love their relationship.

Scarfing down some popcorn by the fire :)
Tinfoil dinners sounds like a yummy fun idea, but we started them way too late, so it took forever!
