Utah Week 1: July 23rd-30th

Once again, Jesse had to leave just weeks after baby was born to go to a 5, almost 6, week training. So while he was doing survival and water training in Washington, I stayed at my parents house with the kids until it was time to meet up in our new home in Arizona.

So, after two years, I said goodbye to Wichita Falls, our first military assignment, and all our amazing friends, and headed to Utah! Good thing my mom was with me because it. was. a. nightmare. Lots of delays, which is no fun with a newborn and a toddler. After a very long day we finally made it home and were greeted by the sweetest Winward kids!

The next six weeks were...hard, honestly. Great, and so wonderful to spend time with family, but also just really hard. Between being in someone else's house, not having my spouse, during the transition from one to two kids, with a toddler in a new environment, it was quite difficult and exhausting. Throw some postpartum hormones on top of that and there ya go! I honestly don't know how I would have survived without my mom.

So...let the Utah fun begin!! :)

Sweet Aspen drove us to the airport. She's seriously been such an amazing friend, one I will have forever.
First things first, gotta read books with the cousins!
 Gram and Gramps meet Charlie
 Baths and books before bedtime
Kylie is the sweetest little mommy. She was so good with Charlie!
Lucy struggled a bit with being nice and happy...just being in a new place, with new people, without her dad, with a new baby...it was hard for her. Buuuut she really did love all her play dates with Addi girl.
We spent Pioneer Day with the Lanham clan. It was sooo good to see everyone and have them meet Charlie and have Lucy play with her cousins!
Mumzy meets Charlie!
 Love these three girls!
 Lucy girl LOVES uncle Markey
3/4 of the summer babes - Ethel, Charlie, Samson...waiting on Eli

Papa was getting her to laugh so hard, it was precious.
The girls...
...and the people trying to get the girls to smile
Jumping on the tramp with cousins = the highlight of Lucy's trip to Utah

Out to dinner and to the park with Ry and Mir
The first of many Winward pool parties :)
The post swimming nap = my favorite
 Walmart with this monkey
 Aunt Karrissa snuggles
The beginning of Lucy's TERRIBLE sleep struggles while we are here...
 "one more, mom"
I feel like I didn't get to enjoy these moments with Charlie as much as I did with Luc, but when I got them, I sure loved it!
 Books with Gram
 The joys of a newborn
Sneaking treats from the pantry, I'm sure.
My daughter playing with one of my childhood favorites...Beanie Babies!
 Pool party for Coco's birthday!
Boss Baby in the theater room
Of course he fell asleep like this during the movie but NEVER at night. Little stink.
Lucy loved playing with Grandma's dress ups!
Warm summer nights watching the kids run around playing in the front yard :)
